Pikey Peak Trek

Pikey Peak Trek

Nestled within Nepal’s Lower Khumbu region lies the Pikey Peak Trek; an newly discovered gem offering breath-taking vistas of iconic mountains such as Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu. Experienced trekkers of Pikey Peak know it to be an amazing view, even Sir Edmund Hillary once described as one of its greatest points of attraction. Beyond its majestic mountains, this trek also gives visitors an insight into the beautiful landscapes and rich cultural traditions of the Sherpa people, whose warm hospitality makes every encounter unforgettable. Being relatively new and off-the-beaten-path trek makes the Pikey Peak Trek an excellent option for peaceful trekking adventures with minimal crowding or hassle.

The Pikey Peak Trek provides an easier trek than many others leading to views of Everest. While there may be some uphill sections, no special skills are necessary; beginners can complete this trek in four to five days, reaching 4,065 meters. Due to lessened foot traffic on this trek, accommodation at tea houses on this route can be more basic compared to more popular routes such as the Everest Base Camp Trek. The 9-day Pikey Peak Trek begins with an enjoyable journey from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar, passing beautiful forests, rice paddies and rivers along its route. Following an overnight stay in Dhap, trekking begins, offering sights of the Numbur Himal range and the charming village of Japre, providing glimpses of Everest, as well as visiting a small monastery in Japre. From here the path ascends through verdant knoll at Bhulbhule with verdant forests filled with Rhododendron-filled forests to Pikey Base Camp; upon reaching Pikey Peak you’ll witness breathtaking sunrise views of Everest, Kanchenjunga Manaslu and Dhaulagiri before finally disembarking back at Lamjura Danda where your journey concludes. As your guide, you will travel along a route through fields and woodlands leading from Taktor to Junbesi; both Sherpa communities feature monasteries and sacred Buddhist structures. After arriving in Phaplu, you will experience Sherpa traditions and cuisine before returning to Kathmandu. Our team is passionate about providing an amazing journey; reservations for 2025 are currently open, enabling us to customize this extraordinary trek according to your timetable, financial plan, preferences, or any necessary modifications to the itinerary. Please reach out if any information or alterations need to be made.
