The Larsa We Trek is an unforgettable trek that connects Kalpa and Kaza via a high pass at 5280 meters, making this trek one of the less-travelled routes in Himachal Pradesh and providing breathtaking landscapes, such as valleys, grasslands, deserts, rivers, peaks, and glaciers. Situated within the Shrikhand range of the Himalayas, the Larsa We Trek should only be attempted by experienced trekkers due to its challenging terrains, high altitudes, and demanding pass crossing. Starting in Lippa valley near Kalpa near Kalpa before concluding at Pin Valley near Kaza, before beginning again between July and September – more information will follow shortly on this page.

Trek Itinerary of Larsa We Trek

Day 1: Shimla to Kalpa – 225 km Drive

Journey from Shimla to Kalpa can be truly enjoyable as you pass along twisting roads, towering peaks, stunning valleys and rushing rivers. Covering 225km in total distance and taking approximately 8-10 hours typically, your overnight accommodation in Kalpa will likely be at a hotel or guesthouse.

Day 2: Kalpa to Asrang – Drive

After breakfast this morning, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to Asrang village situated within Lipa Valley, where breathtaking mountain vistas await us. Later in the afternoon, we will settle into our cozy guesthouse or homestay for an enjoyable overnight stay.

Day 3: Asrang to Pulling

Today we will embark on our journey from Asrang and ascend steeply through Tokto village towards the rolling grasslands of Pulling. Overnight camping will be planned.

Day 4: Pulling to Bicho Thatch

Starting our journey from Pulling, we will trek towards Bicho Thatch via Kangte Peak with its highest elevation along our journey and camp overnight in tents.

Day 5: Bicho Thatch to Tapang

Today will be an extensive trek, which should prove both challenging and not too taxing. Our route will follow the river until reaching Tapang campsite, where we will spend the night camping out in tents.

Day 6: Tapang to Larsa

Today is going to be both physically and mentally demanding as we traverse a glacier to reach Larsa where we will set up camp for the night in tents.

Day 7: Larsa to Ansa Sumdo via Larsa We (5280 m)

Today we will traverse Larsa We, taking in stunning views of nearby valleys and mountains as we make our way towards Ansa Sumdo campsite for overnight camping. We will stay in tents.

Day 8: Ansa Sumdo to Tailing Village

Today we will travel to Tailing village located in the picturesque Pin Valley of Spiti and spend the night camping out.

Day 9: Tailing Village to Kaza – Drive

Depart from Tiling Village in Pin Valley for Kaza, our homestay or guesthouse.

Day 10: Depart from Kaza

Mid-July to Mid-September is the ideal time for exploring this trek.

From July to August, Snowmelt occurs fully, enabling river crossing.

September: Cool temperatures without too many clear skies, providing consistent conditions.
