Kipling Trail was once the main route linking Dehradun with Mussoorie. It has since been changed into a thrilling trekking trail and is a tranquil escape from the bustling modern-day highway. In honour of well-known author Rudyard Kipling who was a frequent visitor to this trail in the 1880s and then immortalized it in his book Kim–this route is also mentioned in the works from Ruskin Bond. This trail is a mix of beauty in nature and historic significance.

Route 1: Shahanshahi Ashram to Jharipani Village
- Beginning Point: The start is at the rear of Shahanshahi Ashram, and a short visit will be made to the adjacent Christian Retreat.
