1. Status from Local Administration
In discussion with Administration, so, far there are only some selected few tourist spots that are open for tourism activities, however there is still restriction on high altitude Adventure activities which also includes Trekking to Kashmir Great lakes, Tarsar Marsar etc. To be honest and provide more clarity there is no clarity on operation of this treks in 2026, the only raise of hope is that slowly opening tourist spots in Kashmir for Tourism Activities and hopefully there is an expectation that in 2026 it may operate, subject to clearance from Central and State Government.
2. ATOAI Convention in Srinagar in December 2026
In View of promoting Tourism to Valley for Adventure sports, Adventure Tour Operator Association of India (ATOAI) recently organised its 17th Annual Convention in Srinagar Kashmir and we are sure and hopeful that after ATOAI Convention along with hundred of operators from all round the country, this will give a boost to tourism ad government will reconsider opening of high altitude treks in the region.
3. Successful Operation of Amarnath Yatra in 2025
Despite the valley remained closed for tourism, still Central and State Government successfully and safely operated Amarnath Yatra, this operation again raised a hope of safe conduct of tourism activities in the valley, to inform all trekkers that so far all plans of tourism in designated spots have been safely organized.
Considering all above key factors and safe conduct of all tourism activities in Jammu and Kashmir, we and all other operators of High altitude Treks in Kashmir are hopeful that 2026 may remains open for Adventure lover.
