The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a high-level caution for October 6th and 7th, 2025, due to the expected occurrence of severe to heavy rainfall in multiple Himalayan states.

Ongoing Trek Updates and Status of Trekup India:-
Kuari Pass Trek Update – Closed for Two Days (October 6-7, 2025)
Due to the India Meteorological Department’s heavy rainfall prediction, the Forest Department has issued a warning advising a temporary halt on issuing permits for the Kuari Pass trek on October 6 and 7, 2025. Registered trekkers have been formally notified of this decision.
On 5th October 2025, this group of trekkers is currently based in Joshimath, from where they are exploring nearby attractions such as Niti Valley and Badrinath at no additional cost. Depending on favorable weather conditions, we plan to attempt the summit of Kuari Pass, potentially bypassing the Gulling campsite to cover the missing day.
The upcoming groups: All future Kuari Pass trips will continue to run as planned after 7th October.
Har Ki Dun Trek:
The Har Ki Dun Trek is currently taking place with the 4th October 2025 batch on the trail.
The batch scheduled for trekking on October 5th, 2025, is proceeding as planned under regular conditions along the designated route.
Rupin Pass Trek:
Fresh snowfall has been observed in the upper areas of Rupin Pass, and there is a prediction of rain on the 6th and 7th of October 2025.
4th Oct 2025, the group has reached Saruwas Thatch. The trek leader is assessing the current situation and will decide to proceed or descend based on the terrain conditions and the safety of the team.
05th Oct 2025, The Group is has safely reached Jakha Village, with comparable guidance.
11th October 2025, batch stands confirmed to be operational and working as planned.
Advisory for North-East India (Sikkim & Darjeeling Region)
Severe rainstorms and landslides in the northern Himalayan region have disrupted road access to remote areas, causing significant challenges to transportation. Incidents of loss of life and damage to property have been reported in the affected areas.
Before making travel plans, it is recommended that trekkers intending to visit this area stay informed about local news and follow the advisories issued by the District Administration.
Trekup India’s Goechala and Sandakphu treks have been postponed until 19th Oct 2025 to ensure the well-being of all individuals involved.
