Exploring Goecha La Trek in summer best for bird watching enthusiasts

Bird watching enthusiasts and winter sports enthusiasts agree that summer is an incredible season, especially April to May when different species of birds can be observed in their natural environments. Goecha La is an excellent spot for bird watchers with opportunities to spot indigenous species like Grey Bushchat, Greentail Sunbird and European Sparrow all located within Kanchendzonga National Park trek routes.n From late March through the middle of April is when we can expect the winter thaw to take hold and allow treks at lower elevations - which have more vegetation compared to higher ones - without risk of snowmelt or high-water tables. As snow begins melting in April and spring arrives, its melting will transform our landscape by way of vivid hues of blossoming flowers. By day, temperatures in April are warm and sunny; however, in the evening they become much colder with rain likely even occurring at times.

Monsoon time trek is life riskey

Sikkim is an ideal place for the beginning of southwest monsoon season, which begins around late May with rain showers starting to arrive by end-May. Goecha La Trek should not take place between late May and early August as one of India's humid regions receives significant annual rainfall that makes trail conditions treacherous as well as increasing chances of landslides due to slippery surfaces. As forests provide an ideal habitat for leech species, trekking through them during monsoon season can be challenging and it's wise to avoid trails at this time of year.

Autumn month brings breathtaking scenery

Between September and October in the autumn months, the Himalayas showcase their exquisite beauty. Views are clear of Mount. Kanchenjunga as monsoon rains have cleared away clouds to reveal vibrant blue skies. Vivid foliage brings variety to trekking routes while sunrises create breathtaking scenes; as the golden light from dawn illuminates snow-topped mountains transforming this scene into something truly remarkable. From September through October, it is possible to capture stunning photographs of mountains covered in snow, such as Frey's Peak; Mt Koktang; Rathong Kabru; Khangchendzonga, Pandin, Tien Chenkhang and Jopuno - among many others. Trek should be relatively free from snow, with only some icy patches to negotiate. While there may be the possibility for rain showers in the near future, overall weather should remain pleasant and mild.

Winter Cold months

Cold winter months spanning November-December add an additional challenge for this moderately difficult trek, making it even more thrilling and exciting for those able to manage it.Navigating snow-covered trails requires special gear such as microsp and stability. Camping under these extreme temperatures requires specially-designed tents that can withstand sub-zero temperatures. The next few days could bring fresh snowfall. Nighttime temperatures have already fallen as far as -20 Celsius and icy winds increase the chill factor further. Meanwhile, meadows have been transformed by firey shades of purple, orange and yellow meadow grasses while trees display autumn hues like an array of fall colors.Goecha La provides a host of activities and its trek window is tailored to meet the individual's or adventure seeker's specific goals and interests - making this trip multifaceted and memorable.
