Mt. Nanda Devi

Altitude - 7,816 m

Nanda Devi stands tall as India's second-highest peak and one of its most beautiful features. Once considered the world's highest mountain, this magnificent peak can be found at Auli trek start point on day one. For trekkers, Nanda Devi makes for an impressive sight on day one of their Auli journey. Nanda Devi mountain derives its name from Hindu goddess Parvati, who is commonly referred to by her name. According to Hindu theology, Nanda Devi was believed to be born as the offspring of Himavat and Mena of Himalaya, so people in her vicinity consider her an embodiment of Parvati that should be venerated as their protector deity. Kuari Pass trek traverses the famed Nanda Devi Sanctuary. This altitude valley surrounded by towering peaks is commonly known as "Inner Sanctuary", as its location is considered sacred by spiritual tradition and ecological conservationists alike. Access is limited to preserve both spiritual significance and fragile environments of this holy spot.Folklore from the region recalls how Nanda Devi summit was originally decorated by an extravagant necklace fashioned out of precious gemstones, which broke and spread its stones across Himalayan region, eventually creating more mountain peaks - providing an explanation for all their splendorous beauty! Mt. Hathi-Ghori Parbat 

Altitude - 6,727 m and 6,708 m

Hathi-Ghori Parbat mountain range, standing at 6,727 and 6,708 metres respectively, stands out for its distinct design and appearance. Situated in a line and bearing striking similarities to elephant and horse heads. If the pattern is not immediately evident, try turning your head sideways until you spot its similarity; once spotted you will instantly recognize its difference.

Mt.Trishul Peak

Altitude - 7120 m

Kuari Pass provides an amazing view of Trishul Peak in the eastern sky, named in honour of Lord Shiva's trident. Composed of three distinct peaks, its incredible shape makes an impactful statement about nature's power when seen from below. When sunrise arrives, its snow-covered exterior shimmers pink and gold colours providing trekkers and photographers alike an exquisite scene to photograph or trek on. Furthermore, with its striking ridgelines and impressive dimensions making this landmark peak an excellent tourist attraction.

Mt. Dronagiri 

Altitude - 7,066 m

Dunagiri (7,066m) sets the scene for your journey as you approach Joshimath with its majestic view and unchanging companionship on your trek, culminating in a memorable finale. Sanjeevani Booti, which can be found hidden among its rocks, was mentioned in the epic poem Ramayana and believed to possess life-giving properties. Hanuman began searching for this magical plant to revive Lakshman who had been injured during combat and unconscious; as part of this search he uprooted an entire mountain before finding and returning with this miraculous herb to revive Lakshman; although successful at finding this herb the locals still harbor grudges against Hanuman for desecrating their sacred mountain while refusing to worship Hanuman even today.Numerous medical teams have undertaken expeditions up Mount Fuji in search of an herb capable of curing various ailments; unfortunately, their efforts at finding such plants have proved futile so far.

Mt. Chaukhamba

Altitude - 7,138 m

Chaukhamba at 7,138 metres is an enormous range of four mountains which dominates views from Gelghad campsite on sunny days. At dawn, however, they take on a charming gold hue which creates a captivating scene. Chaukhamba, I stand at an elevation of 7138m and forms part of the Gangotri group in Garhwal Himalayan Mountains. It was summitted successfully in 1952. Neelkanth sits at an elevation of 6,597 meters within Chaukhamba Massif and holds great significance in Hindu mythology. To the northwest, Satopanth Glacier borders this summit; first conquered in 1974 after several unsuccessful attempts, it has since then been claimed numerous times over by climbers.

 

Mt. Neelkanth

Altitude - 6,597 m

Legend holds that Neelkanth Mountain used to be an open plain, used for creating the sacred temples of Kedarnath and Badrinath. Devout pilgrims would travel between them until their actions eventually brought upon themselves the curse of Lord Shiva who, furious with sinners' transgressions, created an obstacle known as Neelkanth that blocked direct passage between them both.These are the peaks you will come across during your trek. If you decide to extend it beyond Pangarchulla, however, you will encounter breathtaking mountain ranges such as Kamet, Mana, Mandir, Barmatia and Lampak I and II summits - each offering breathtaking vistas.

At Pangarchulla Peak, you will also be able to gaze upon Mount Trishul (13,359 meters) and Nandaghunti (6,309 meters). Although these views might not compare as beautifully with what is offered during Roopkund Treks, nonetheless they will make for beautiful sights, nonetheless.
