Rock-carved stairs
Forts at the top of plateaus can be treacherous terrain to reach due to steep, rock-carved stairs. Climbing an almost vertical incline of nearly 80 degrees provides thrilling climb. While this may be difficult, safety features have been installed to ensure an effortless ascent. Moss and moisture in monsoon season may make the steps slippery; wearing sturdy trekking footwear and using a trekking pole will significantly enhance your experience climbing dangerous areas.
Once at Mahadarvaja, you'll notice an escalator leading directly up to it and an incline leading down into a valley to your left, with guarded protection on either side. After traversing this traverse, a staircase and cave lead to the top of Fort.
Within the walls of this fort can be found gods. From here one can climb to the top of a nearby hill where stunning views of Sahyadri range can be revealed. Take time to appreciate nature before heading down.
